Four Men, Four Stories - World War II Primary Sources
During the spring, our 8th grade students study World War II with Mrs. LaRue in Social Studies. The link below will take you to a website created as a final project for one of my graduate school classes.
It is difficult to overstate the value of primary sources, certainly in terms of education and research, but more importantly in the way they offer us an unvarnished look at ourselves at various points in history.
With this website, I'll give an overview of what qualifies as a primary source, and I'll share some World War II era primary sources that are directly and indirectly a part of my own family history. Hopefully, the stories of these four men will shed some light on the different aspects of the WWII era, and offer some insight into that particular place in time.
